Erectile dysfunction medications took in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines through the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is vital that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of products being sold, normally online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not know the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
